Howdy, welcome to the Dallas-Fort Worth INTEGIRLS chapter! We are a student-led, nonprofit organization committed to empowering female and non-binary students comfortable being grouped with girls to find joy in competitive math. Each year, we host different events, including puzzle solving, math competitions, and more!
A girl with intelligence and mathematical talent is often suppressed by the prejudices of the math community. Too often we see young girls being discouraged and told to pursue more “girly” hobbies, and, as a result, less and less girls are participating in upper level math competitions. In an effort to rectify this unfortunate reality, we aim to provide math opportunities to girls and non-binary teens affected by (trans)misogyny. By creating a supportive community, we hope to overcome the misogyny that exists in the field of mathematics.
